DESCRIPTION:Liberty Hall invites all home schoolers and their families to step back in time and explore the life of the many children who called Liberty Hall home. We will be running two programs concurrently: A Child’s Colonial Life for 3 to 5 year olds and Changing Childhood for 6 to 11 year olds. Through play-based activities\, the littlest learners will explore a child’s life\, chores\, and school during colonial times. Through hands-on activities\, the older learners will explore how life has changed for five generations of children at Liberty Hall\, from the colonial era to the 1940s\, by comparing lighting\, music\, transportation\, communication\, technology\, and clothing.

DESCRIPTION:In this exciting program\, children will learn how Revolutionary era spies used codes\, dead drops and ciphers to convey military intelligence.  Children will follow clues to find a secret message from General Washington hidden on the trails of Liberty Hall! They will learn how to use the pig-pen code and also discover the important role women played as spies during the American Revolution.  Afterwards\, everyone will create and take home a secret code book!
