Outreach Documenting the Past: Livingston and the New Jersey Constitution

Guided by museum educators in period dress, students will explore William Livingtson’s life and family.  Students will discuss how these aspects influenced his political decisions and affected several articles within the first New Jersey Constitution. The program concludes with a guided exploration into studying and transcribing primary source documents from the 1776 New Jersey Constitution in relation to Livingston’s writings.

Program Availability: Monday – Friday; 10:00am-2:00pm

Program Length: 45 minute sessions

Recommended Grade Level: 7th through 12th 

Group Limit: 25 students per session

Price: $175 per session, $150 per additional session on the same day
