America 250: Liberty Hall Celebrates America 250
As an American Revolution Era National Historic Site, Liberty Hall is happy to announce several events celebrating 250 years of the United States including:
Bearing Witness
Permanent Exhibit. Opens February 26, 2026.
Integrated throughout the historic home, this new permanent exhibit sheds light upon the lives of the people enslaved at Liberty Hall and the social, political, and economic circumstances in which they built lives, families, and communities. Featuring extensive research from Liberty Hall’s archives and sources across the United States, many of the objects and archival documents highlighted in this exhibit have never before been on view. Visit this exhibit on your next tour of Liberty Hall Museum to learn about Abbe, Tom, Betty, Cyenus, the Stout family, and more.
First Oval Office Project Weekend
April 17- 19th, 2026.
In partnership with the Museum of the American Revolution, Liberty Hall Museum is proud to host the hand sewn reproduction tent used by General George Washington during the American Revolution. The weekend is filled with reenactors, crafts, lectures, historical figure costume contest a historical monument design competition, interacting with other local historic sites, games, and more! Be sure to check out Liberty Hall Museum’s website for tickets and a full itinerary of the weekend’s festivities. If you are interested in seeing General George Washington’s original sleeping and office tent from the Revolutionary War is on permanent display at the Museum of the American Revolution in historic Philadelphia.
On Friday, April 17 between 3-5pm, come help us set up and be the first to see Washington’s tent in advance of the weekend’s festivities. Light refreshments will be provided.
On Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 from 10am-4pm join us for the weekend’s full festivities. The cost of admittance is $5 per person. Reservations are suggested but walk-ins are welcome
In the evening on Sunday, April 19, from 2-4pm, help us close out the weekend as we break down the tent and return it to the Museum of the American Revolution. Light refreshments will be provided.
250 Years of Music with Lyrica Chamber Music
April 25, 2026. 4:00 pm 5:30 pm.
Cost: $30 per person. $25 per member.
Wine, cheese, and chamber music! Join Liberty Hall in collaboration with Lyrica Chamber Music for an America250 concert social! We invite you to listen to music, converse with the musicians and your friends, and enjoy some light refreshments. Together with Lyrica, we are thrilled to showcase a trio of acclaimed artists: clarinetist Moran Katz, cellist Ani Kalayjian, and pianist David Kaplan, who will curate and perform a special program celebrating American music. Light Refreshments. Reservation suggested.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Early American Women and their Kitchen Garden
Lecture. May 17, 2026. 11am-1pm.
Cost: $25 per person. $20 per member
Lesley Parness, local horticulturalist, presents “The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Early American Women and their Kitchen Garden” at Liberty Hall. Learn the role women played as horticulturalists and healers in Early America. Discover the importance of gardens in early America. This is a lecturer style event with a Q&A session with the presenter at the end. Light refreshments will be served.
250th Family Fun Day: 250 Years of Medicine & Healthcare at Liberty Hall

Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with our Liberty Learners 250th Family Fun Day series! How did colonists make their own
medicines? Join Liberty Hall Museum’s Liberty Learners Adventure to discover how the residents of Liberty Hall cared for their health over the past 250 years. Through a mixture of natural remedies, herbs, and later commercialized medicines, the Livingstons and the Keans managed to treat and alleviate their symptoms. Explore how medicine has evolved, how certain healing practices are a shared human experience across generations, and make your own colonial remedies! Join us for this family-friendly tour of Liberty Hall to compare Livingston’s natural and plant-based remedies with those used by later residents.
Reservations are suggested and recommended for grades 1st through 5th.
Colonial Olympic Games & Ice Cream Social at Liberty Hall
July 11, 2026. 1:00 pm 3:00 pm.
Cost: $6-12
Who doesn’t enjoy a good old-fashioned family fun day? Join us for our Colonial Olympic Games and Ice Cream Social Day! Colonial Games were widely enjoyed by children and inspired some of the toys and games we play today. Explore and learn about what children played with, and enjoy a family-friendly competition in the lovely gardens of Liberty Hall. Afterward, to celebrate your victory, join us for a yummy good time at our Ice Cream Social! I scream, you scream…we all scream for Ice Cream!
Recommended for all ages! No experience necessary. Reservations Required.
Music in the Garden
August 7, 2026. 6-8pm.
Cost: $20 per person. $15 per member.
The Livingston and Kean families have always had musicians in their family and music was an integral part of society, starting as early as the late 1700s. Join Liberty Hall as we listen to a live band perform music from the sheet music found in the museum’s collection with a mix of modern favorites. This concert will take place in our gardens so sit back, relax, and enjoy a themed cocktail with light snacks as you listen.
Revolutionary Lives Traveling Exhibit
August 17, 2026-August 27, 2026. 11am-4pm.
Cost: $5 per person. Free for members
Liberty Hall and Revolution NJ invite you to this special exhibit. The American Revolution created dramatic disruptions and opportunities for the people of New Jersey. While much is known about the challenges faced by the leaders of the conflict, most Americans are less familiar with the experience of ordinary people. We invite you to explore their lives and how their experiences, views, and choices were shaped by their unique circumstances.
A 250th celebration event! Reservations suggested. Walk-ins welcome.
Colonial Beer Making Class
October 10, 2026. 10am-5pm.
Cost: $60 per person. $55 per member.
This classroom-style event will provide an in-depth look at how colonists made beer. Included in the price of admission is a boxed lunch, colonial style, a chance to play with colonial games, a tour of the 1st floor of Liberty Hall and a take home beer making kit.
