April 26

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until April 26, 2026

Rare. Historic. Yours to Grow.

1770: Susan Livingston, the daughter of New Jersey’s first elected governor, William Livingston, plants a Horse Chestnut Tree in front of Liberty Hall.

1774: Completion of Liberty Hall

1776: The Revolution

2026: This Horse Chestnut still stands and is rooted in over 250 years of historical legacy.

You can continue the legacy by planting a sapling of the Heritage Horse Chestnut right in your own backyard, because this isn’t just history you visit- it’s history you can own.

Saplings will be available to purchase from April 22 to April 26 at a special seasonal price of $50. Once your tree is purchased, a museum representative will call or email you with pickup information.
