Events: Liberty Tree Planting Ceremony
Liberty Tree Planting Ceremony
April 22 2:30 pm 3:30 pm EDT

Happy Earth Day! Join Liberty Hall in collaboration with the Sons of the American Revolution as we celebrate Earth Day and America’s 250th by planting a commemorative Liberty Tree on our historic grounds. This special Princeton Elm will represent the original “Tree of Liberty,” a powerful symbol of American independence, originating from a Boston elm where colonists protested British rule in 1765, and will serve as the symbol of America’s Revolutionary spirit that launched a nation. After the planting and plaque ceremony, guests will have the option to join a guided garden tour.
You can continue the legacy by planting a sapling of the Heritage Horse Chestnut right in your own backyard, because this isn’t just history you visit – it’s history you can own. For a limited time, these saplings will be available for purchase for a special season price of $25 from Earth Day, April 22, through Sunday, April 26th.
