The Historian’s Apprentice

Students will step into the role of historian and have the opportunity to study and transcribe primary source documents, learn how to take an oral history, observe best practices for the preservation and handling of historical materials, and work collaboratively to create a museum quality display of artifacts. A tour of Kean University including Kean Hall once a part of the Liberty Hall property, built by famed politician, banker, and resident of Liberty Hall Senator Hamilton Fish Kean, will round out the field trip. Additional workshops available. 


Program Availability: Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Recommended Grade Level: 9th- 12th

Program Length:  Approximately 2 hours, please allow additional time for a tour of Kean Hall at Kean University.

Group Limit: Up to 130 Students (for larger groups, please inquire)

Admission: $10.00

1 free adult for every 10 students, additional adults are $12.00 each
